NIO unveils Navigate on Pilot and Power Up Plan

On September 26th, the 2020 Beijing International Auto Show officially opened. NIO, one of the leaders in China's new energy vehicle sector, once again brought its NIO House to the auto show to bring us Navigate on Pilot and the Power Up Plan.

This year's Beijing Auto Show will feature the NIO Power Switching Station, three types of charging stations, NIO Innovations' R&D and patents, and the NIO Life lifestyle and other corporate achievements.

At the auto show, NIO OS 2.7.0 and Navigate on Pilot (NOP) were released. Navigate on Pilot (NOP) is the first NOP function in China that uses high precision maps in mass production, and is integrated with NOMI to provide humanized voice guidance to help users better understand the vehicle's intention and ensure driving safety. However, NOP is still an assisted driving function and cannot be fully relied upon, so you still need to stay focused while using it and take over the vehicle when needed to ensure safe driving.

Nio has conducted continuous testing on map coverage and functional stability of the NOP function in more than 30 key cities across China, with actual road test mileage exceeding 300,000 km. Based on a large amount of test data, Nio has made many adjustments and special optimizations to make NOP more suitable for Chinese users' driving habits.

In addition, NOP function will be pushed to users in batches via FOTA (remote firmware update) in October along with NIO OS 2.7.0 upgrade. It is worth mentioning that the upgrade will also launch nearly 20 new and optimized features such as camera-based driver fatigue warning, remote seat opening and ventilation, and 5.1 immersive surround sound, providing users with a smarter and more convenient driving experience.

In order to further expand the coverage of destination charging service and speed up charging speed based on specific scenarios, 20kW DC piles have been added to the list of destination charging stations. At the same time, Nio announced its new Power Up Plan, a new energy replenishment plan that will provide a total of 100 million yuan in subsidies for the deployment of a total of 30,000 destination DC piles to form a nationwide convenient and flexible charging network, making electric auto travel more enjoyable.
