NIO Is Developing 150-degree Battery Pack With Range Of Over 900km
Because of range anxiety, charging anxiety, and other anxieties, electric cars are still considered a niche model in China. Although many people become early adopters, the majority of consumers are still in a wait-and-see mode, which can be seen from the sales of EV models.
However, compared to before, today's electric vehicles, in terms of range and driving experience, have made a lot of progress.
Previously, it was also said that if an electric car had a single battery and a range of 800km, they would consider buying an electric car. And now, it might really be almost time to make good on that promise.
On October 30, at the EP Club (elite user club within the NIO brand), William Li said that NIO is currently working on a 150-degree battery pack that will allow the EV to have a range of over 900km.
What can be seen is that, if the NIO's 150-degree battery pack is put into mass production and installed, the vehicle's range will exceed 900km.
Even when compared to fuel-efficient Japanese hybrids, the range of one battery of the NIO can even exceed the mileage of one tank of gas of its hybrid model.
The electric car's single battery mileage has already surpassed the vast majority of fuel-efficient cars as well as hybrid models and is arguably a milestone event for electric vehicles as well.
It is reported that NIO currently has three battery packs to choose from - 70kWh, 84kWh, and 100kWh - and the 100kWh pack will be available from the fourth quarter of 2020.
